HSIE at Corpus Christi encompasses History and Geography. It aims to enhance each student’s sense of personal, community, national and global identity. It gives them the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to participate as responsible citizens in maintaining and improving the quality of their society and environment.
Learning about human society and the environment provides scope for students to develop their own opinions and viewpoints and to understand and respect the rights of others.
Inquiry modes of learning are incorporated into HSIE to deepen learning and enhance students’ connections to their world.
