Parent Involvement at Corpus Christi
Parents are an integral part of Corpus Christi and we see you as partners in our effectiveness as a school. You are what helps make Corpus Christi a warm, welcoming place to be for all students, their families and our staff.
Being involved in your child’s school life is a fulfilling way to support their education and shape the school’s future. Joining our parent groups is a wonderful way to form some lifelong friendships.
You are invited to contribute to Corpus Christi through these areas which rely on parent involvement:
- Parents’ & Friends’ Association
- Class parents
- Uniform shop
- Canteen
- Library volunteers
- Literacy support program
- Welcoming committee to assist with open days, Grandparent’s Day and Mother’s and Father’s Day breakfasts
Parents can also assist with sports carnivals, gala days, excursions, debating and book club, providing endless opportunities to be involved in your child’s education throughout the year.
Class parents
Every class has at least two volunteer class parents who act as a communication link between parents and the classroom. Class parents help by:
- Organising social events for parents of children in their class
- Coordinating other volunteers to help with class events like excursions or reading
- Coordinating fundraising efforts as requested by the P&F Executive
- Arranging warm meals for class families in need of support
Canteen
Corpus Christi’s canteen is open for recess and lunch on various days during the week depending on volunteer availability. You can find the upcoming canteen open days in the school newsletter and on Compass. It operates with a Canteen Manager and volunteer parents. Menu and ordering information can be found in our Qkr app. Over-the-counter food is also available so that the children can pay themselves and learn financial literacy.

Parish community
Corpus Christi Parish welcomes all Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School families to its community. Families can be actively involved in the parish by participating in children’s liturgy held regularly at the 10am Sunday Mass and facilitating sessions in the Sacramental Program.
Rock Masses are hosted by different classes throughout the year and all families are warmly invited to attend these energetic, whole school celebrations.
